Arts + Crafts New Construction

This young couple had recently returned to Michigan from California, ready to plant roots near family and build their forever home. During our design discovery process, we uncovered their deep appreciation for the Arts and Crafts movement, especially the work of William Morris. We reinterpreted that influence with a fresh lens—layering in patterns and textures that pay homage without feeling dated. Their love of animals inspired whimsical touches throughout: a custom wingback chair in the library upholstered in dog-print fabric, soft-toned wallpaper featuring rabbits and squirrels in the primary bedroom (which overlooks the backyard and connects to nature), and a custom-designed dog wash in the laundry room—a playful and practical addition for their beloved pet.
